A story of love is the inspiration for “Regina Maria”. It’s a place that has kept the mysterious romantic atmosphere of the times when, on the Balchik shore, Maria, Queen of Romania, used to gaze at the sea. No wonder one of her favourite nooks in the Balchik Palace, has been recreated in the restaurant by means of the arches, reminiscent of the rose garden nymphaeum in the Palace.

The interior reflects the peace and calm of the philosophy Queen Maria ardently believed in. Based on the Bahaic principle of religious equality, the interior design features ornaments from different worlds – you will certainly feel a Mediterranean influence, but you will undoubtedly notice a hint of Arabic style, too. As well as various symbols, the restaurant interior uses the kind of materials the queen once chose for her summer residence – white Balchik limestone and wood.

The terrace overlooking the sea also commands a magnificent view of the Palace and is a favourite place for our guests. There they share experiences and memories. And they come back again for more stories tasting of love.
